How it Works | Canada Mission

1st step: Join the Canada Mission

- The first step is to join to the Canada Mission, it will be necessary to register on the STERNA website, answer the admission exam, upload your Resume and complete all the required fields of the form.

2nd step: The Avatar

- This step consists in translating the Resume of the candidate to English, to join and refine details in accordance to the Canada government, as well as provide a list of the Know-How and Skills.

3rd step: The STERNA platform

This step allows the Canada companies to visualize and select candidate profiles in relation to their requirements and interests. Therefore, they will be able to prepare a "request for interview".

4th step: Request for interview

The "request for interview" formulated to the candidate by the Canada company is always accompanied by the main job task and basic work conditions as well as the desired start date of the work. In addition, it contains the workplace, the work shifts the minimum experience required for the position and salary range. It also mentions the meeting date, time and place of the Canada Mission for which the company has reserved. Generally, the Canada Missions occur on Saturdays.

After the sending of a "request for interview", the Avatar of the candidate will disappear from the STERNA platform for a period of 72 hours. During this period, the candidate will either have to accept the "request for interview" or refuse it for the following reasons: Non-suitable position | Start date too early | Start date too late | Work location non-suitable | Day shift not desired | Evening shift not desired | Night shift not desired | Week-end shift not desired | Salary too low | Meeting date impossible.

When the candidate accepts the "meeting request" he will then receive an "formal convocation" to the corresponding Canada Mission. It is common to have a translator present during the Canada Mission so that the interview flows smoothly.

The candidate who will have refused the "request for interview" in less than 72 hours will have his Avatar back on the “STERNA platform” instantly. If he chooses not to respond, the candidate will have to wait the end of the 72 hours delay before his Avatar is back online.

5th step: Formal Convocation

On-site

After accepting the "request for interview", the STERNA staff will be in direct contact with the candidate to inform him well of the Canada Mission to ensure its smooth running. At the end of the day following the interviews, the candidates will know if they have been selected or not by the Canada company. In the case the decision proves out to be positive for the candidate, he will receive on the spot a copy of his "work contract". If the decision is negative, the Avatar will go back instantly on the "STERNA platform".
